How to connect an AI chatbot to HubSpot

If your leads live in HubSpot, a chatbot that keeps them in its own dashboard creates copy-and-paste work. Here is how N3 Chat sends each website lead to HubSpot, and what it does not do.

What the integration does

When the agent captures a lead in a conversation, N3 Chat creates a contact in your HubSpot account with:

  • first and last name
  • email address
  • phone number
  • company

It happens when the lead is captured, so the contact is in HubSpot before you have read the conversation.

What it does not do

The integration is one-way, from N3 Chat to HubSpot. It creates contacts. It does not create deals, write the conversation onto the contact's timeline, or read data back from HubSpot. If you need more than the contact, send the lead to a webhook as well and build the rest in a tool such as Zapier or Make.

How to connect it

  1. Open the integrations page in your N3 Chat dashboard and choose HubSpot.
  2. Sign in to HubSpot and approve access. The connection uses HubSpot's own sign-in screen, so you never paste an API key.
  3. Switch on the tool that creates contacts for new leads.
  4. Have a test conversation on your site, leave an email address, and check that the contact appears in HubSpot.

The HubSpot connection is part of the integrations on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Current plans are on the pricing section.

Getting better leads into HubSpot

The contact is only as useful as the conversation behind it. Three things help:

  • Give the agent your real content. It answers from your pages and documents, so visitors stay in the conversation long enough to leave their details.
  • Tell it what a good lead is. The agent asks the questions you would ask and rates each lead high, medium or low.
  • Send alerts to where you work. Add Slack or email alerts next to HubSpot so someone follows up while the visitor still remembers you.
