Before you start
You need your website address and a few minutes. You do not need a developer. If you want to see the result first, the free demo builds an agent from your website address without an account.
Step 1: add your content
The agent can only answer from what you give it. In N3 Chat there are three sources:
- Your website. Enter the address and it reads a single page or the whole site.
- Documents. Upload PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV, JSON or Markdown files, such as a price list or a service guide.
- Questions and answers. Type the questions customers ask and the answers you want given.
Check the result by asking the questions your customers ask. If an answer is missing, add a page or a typed answer that covers it.
Step 2: set the look and the voice
Choose the colours, the launcher style, the avatar and the welcome message so the widget matches your site. Then tell the agent what it is for: what counts as a good lead, and when to offer a meeting.
Step 3: install it
WordPress
Install the N3 Chat plugin and connect it to your account. There is no code to paste.
Any other website
Copy the snippet from your dashboard and paste it into your site before the closing body tag. Most website builders have a custom code or embed setting for this. The snippet is one script tag.
No website
Choose "I don't have a website" when you add your site. N3 Chat hosts a page for you at an address like yourbusiness.n3chat.com, with the agent on it, and gives you a link and a QR code to share.
Step 4: verify and test
Verify your domain so the widget only runs on your own site. Then open your website in a private window and have a full conversation, including leaving your contact details, to check the lead reaches your dashboard.
After it is live
- Connect your calendar so the agent can book meetings.
- Send leads to HubSpot, Slack or email.
- Use page rules to choose which pages show the widget.
- Read the unanswered questions in your dashboard each week and add content for them.
